  • Energy Resources Management was the first company in Hong Kong dedicated purely to to energy management and to addressing energy efficiency from a management perspective. The company’s milestones include conducting its first energy audit for a Hong Kong listed company in 1992, writing its first shared-savings performance contract in 1993, and developing a greenhouse gas emissions inventory protocol in 1994, before the terms ‘carbon audit’ or ‘carbon footprint’ had even been coined
  • Other milestones include:
    • Initiated inclusion of a free GHG report (carbon audit) with energy audits since 1995
    • A company officer was conferred with the first Certified Energy Manager accreditation in Asia in 1998
    • Commenced website publication of monthly degree day data from 1999
    • Reached the first one million USD savings threshold for a single building in 1999. The building reduced emissions of 75,000 tonnes of CO2e in the process
    • Adopted Australia Standard 3598:2000 for energy audits in 2000
    • Developed Energy Management Scorecard (EMScore©) in 2002
    • Completed installation of the first remote monitoring of real time electricity consumption for a client site in 2003
  • Each year Energy Resources Management studies dozens of new products and new techniques claiming to save energy and reduce carbon emissions. By determining where each will (and will not) deliver real energy cost improvements, this cumulative expertise allows clients to achieve world class energy efficiency and avoid failed investments, wasted time, and dead-end efforts
