We are following “4Rs of Environmental Protection” to conduct our carbon reduction measures.

Reduce

  • Keep the normal setting of the printer to the mode of printing on both sides
  • Switch off electrical appliances when they are not in use (such as air-conditioning, computer, printer, photocopier, lighting, etc.)
  • Support “Energy Saving Charter on Indoor Temperature”.  During summer time, maintain an average indoor temperature between 24 - 26°C to save energy
  • We will not leave the computer on standby mode for too long and completely shut off to save electricity

Reuse

  • Reuse single-sided paper for printing and receiving fax
  • Encourage staff to reuse stationery, e.g. used envelop and document folder

Recycle

  • Put recycling boxes near the photocopier to collect single-sided paper for reuse and both-sided used paper for recycling

Replace

  • Reduce paper consumption through application of computer technology (e.g. written communication by email, use computer to store documents)
  • Use energy-saving light bulbs, such as compact fluorescent lamps, LED, etc
  • Choose electrical appliances with “Grade 1” energy label
