In Laundry Plants

  • Pioneered the commercial high-temperature heat pump (HTHP) in Hong Kong by recycling the waste heat to generate hot water for laundry use, substantially reducing carbon dioxide emissions
  • The final rinse water is recycled for use in the prewash process, thus reducing fresh water consumption
  • Use Eco-laundry bag to completely replace conventional plastic bags for packaging
  • Encourage customers to re-use and reduce consumption of clothes hangers through a rebate system under an incentive program
  • Convert air-cooled chiller to water-cooled chiller
  • Increase regular leakage checks on steam and water piping
  • Improve truck fleet efficiency by slower acceleration and deceleration, keeping tire pressure up, etc. to improve fuel economy

Re-scheduling operation hours of MVAC System

  • Adjusted the operation hours of Primary Air Handling Units from 09:45 adjusted to 10:30 and 11:30 which is based on the business hours of the tenants on their floor level.

Installed "Variable Speed Drivers (VSD)" on the MVAC components

  • Installed VSDs to monitor the energy effectiveness of chilled water pumps, cooling tower fans and Air Handling Units

Energy Efficient Mode

  • This energy strategy aims to reduce the energy usage of MVAC system on winter and reduce the carbon emission.
  • This strategy will be based on the below criteria:
    1. (1) The outdoor air temperature is below 21°C;
    2. (2) The outdoor air relative humidity is below 70%; and
    3. (3) The Air Quality Health Index at Mong Kok Roadside Station is below index 7.
  • Turn-off the operation of Air Handling Units and switch off the air curtain in public areas; &
  • Open all French Doors along 1/F and 2/F that let the outdoor air be through inside the mall.
  • We encourage our tenants to participate in the energy saving activity by opening their leased French Doors.

Reduce the quantity of T5 double fluorescent tube at the back corridor

  • 1 fluorescent tube was installed in each lamp panel instead of 2.

"Energy Saving Tips"

  • Posting "Energy Saving Tips" at the exits of all plant rooms to remind users to switch off the power before leaving.

Natural Lighting by Skylight

  • The skylight ceiling design to maximize the utilization of sunlight so that less lighting is required at the daytime to save energy

Grey Water Recycling System

  • The grey water system is to collect grey water from basin and go through the filtration system then the filtrated water will be for cleansing work.

Rain Water Recycling System

  • The rainwater recycling system is to collect the rainwater from roof and storage at the rainwater tank for irrigation.

Condensation Water (from Cooling Tower) Recycling System

  • The condensation water recycling system is to use the condensation water from cooling tower and storage at the flushing water tank for flushing.
