1. Project Summary
A. This is a continuation of the 2015/16 "Mission Healthy Greens – Diana:Star Lite Star Bright" project that had successfully installed LED T8 lamps and LED light bulbs free of charge for families living in public housing estates within the Wong Tai Sin District. As of July 2016, a total of 1,168 families have benefited from this project and saved 114,443 kWh of electricity per annum, which is equivalent to a reduction of 62 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide per annum or ~HKD $120 electricity cost savings per family per annum.

2. Key Project Activities
A. Continuing our support of the Government's 2030+ target of reducing the city's carbon intensity index by 65-70%. Demonstrating that it is possible to help residents to switch to energy-efficient lighting equipment, save energy and reduce their carbon footprint.
B. We estimate the second year project will help 1,350 families to save 132,000 kWh of electricity per annum, which is equivalent to a reduction of 71 tonnes of carbon dioxide.
C. The scope of the project will expand to include three Districts: Wong Tai Sin, Kwun Tong and Shum Shui Po.
D. We will invite Universities, Environmental NGOs, Professional Associations and technology enterprises to participate in the project and offer their expertise.
E. Many government bureaus, departments and offices have agreed to participate and/or support the project, including the Environment Bureau, the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, the Water Services Department, Wong Tai Sin + Kwun Tong + Shum Shui Po District Councils and District Offices, etc.
F. More promotional and educational contents, including inviting actors/actresses as "Project Ambassadors" to promote and raise awareness of the general public on saving energy and reduce their carbon footprint.
G. In addition to installing LED T8 lamps and LED bulbs, participating families may also benefit from having WSD-approved water-efficient valves and/or showerhead installed free of charge that will help to achieve at least 5% water reduction.
H. Our partnering Government Departments, Utilities Companies and Assisting Organisations will deploy their staff volunteering teams to help replacing the old lights with LED T8 lamps and LED light bulbs, and will also conduct a general safety check of the gas appliances and electric circuitry for that household.
