BEC workshop: Turning Hong Kong’s Municipal Solid Waste into Solid Recovered Fuel
The workshop will focus on the Waste-to-Energy project, which is about turning Municipal Solid Waste in Hong Kong into Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) for the benefit of the local energy sector with minimal environmental impact. SRF can be utilized as an alternative fuel to substitute coal or other fossil fuels at local cement or power plants. With lower CO2 emissions, it will significantly reduce the average carbon footprint, as well as increase local recycling rates and encourage renewable energy.
