SEN meets Xie Zhenhua in Bonn (with photos)
    The Secretary for the Environment, Mr Wong Kam-sing, began his itinerary at the 23rd session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP23) in Bonn, Germany, yesterday (November 14, Bonn time) by having a courtesy meeting with the head of the Chinese delegation, China's Special Representative on Climate Change, Mr Xie Zhenhua.

    During the meeting, Mr Wong briefed Mr Xie on the latest work by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in combating climate change. Mr Wong and Mr Xie also exchanged views on the implementation of the Paris Agreement.

    After the meeting, Mr Wong joined as a member of the Chinese delegation bilateral meetings with Germany and Japan respectively to discuss the planning and implementation of climate action initiatives.

    Mr Wong will attend the high-level segment of COP23 today and tomorrow (November 15 and 16, Bonn time) and speak at the Hong Kong session in the China Pavilion.
